Breast Ultrasound
Comprehensive Breast Ultrasound Training
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
1. Understand breast development, anatomy, and physiological changes across different age groups and hormonal statuses.
2. Recognize normal sonographic variations and distinguish them from pathological findings.
3. Perform a systematic breast ultrasound examination with proper patient preparation and scanning techniques.
4. Differentiate between benign and malignant breast lesions based on sonographic features.
5. Correlate mammographic and sonographic findings for accurate diagnosis.
6. Identify developmental anomalies, benign breast changes, and specific malignant masses. 7. Evaluate the male breast, including gynecomastia and male breast cancer.
8. Understand the role of ultrasound in assessing breast implants and related complications.
9. Recognize when to recommend additional diagnostic examinations (e.g., biopsy, MRI) .
Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of the course, participants will: :
✔ Demonstrate proficiency in breast ultrasound scanning techniques and image optimization.
✔ Accurately identify and describe normal vs. abnormal breast sonographic findings.
✔ Develop a structured approach to differentiating benign from malignant lesions using established criteria.
✔ Effectively correlate ultrasound with mammography for improved diagnostic accuracy.
✔ Recognize common and rare breast pathologies, including cysts, fibroadenomas, DCIS, invasive carcinomas, and implant-related complications.
✔ Confidently assess male breast conditions, such as gynecomastia and malignancies.
✔ Apply knowledge of breast physiology and hormonal influences in clinical practice.
✔ Understand the indications for further diagnostic workup and interventional procedures.
Certification:
After successfully completing the training, participants will receive a:
🎓 Certificate of Completion in Breast Ultrasound
Certification Requirements:
- Attendance of all training sessions (or completion of online modules).
- Passing a final assessment (written/practical exam).
- Demonstration of competency in breast ultrasound interpretation.
This certification validates the participant’s expertise in breast ultrasound imaging and enhances their clinical practice in radiology, sonography, or breast diagnostics.
